As a new user of WordPress, I’m just getting my head around the notion of ‘users’-settings for this appear in multiple places in the “Dashboard”.
If anyone has tried to make a comment to this point, perhaps you were turned away by a login screen or other message. I think I have fixed it so that you can set up an account quite easily, then make your post. At this point, I’m moderating all comments until it looks like we’re not being spammed, then I may make it easier.
But for now it’s the cautious approach so we’re not run over by the bus.
So let’s try it out, please make some comments on a post. Thanks!

Attended a cool class Weds nite in Fairfield with the ASMP-NJ chapter. Topic was “speedlights”, in the sense of the newest generations of camera flash, as opposed to studio type flash, which can be operated and manipulated wirelessly.
Several participants brought prints from pro work and personal efforts at trying out off-camera flash with singles and multiple flashes, rear-curtain sync, and we save an inspiring video with pros showing several shoots with really good use of speedlights. I can hardly wait to try out some experiments myself.
Looking over my work recently in building the web site, I realize a lot of my work is done with existing light, so I need to get on it and try some ideas!
Thanks to Tom, David, Ellen, and Norman for the show-and-tell with his personal pro photo gear.

Almost every page has a photo, just the aviation portraits is missing, as we haven’t recruited any customers yet, but that will fill in eventually.
Also now linked to our initial LinkedIn account, with only facebook to go. Hard to say when that will happen though, it could be soon or not til the end of the month.
Thanks for visiting!

Continued to upload photos today with the goal that every section has at least one photo, and am almost there. It will take some time to fill out all of them though I’m getting the routine of steps nailed down.
Started a LinkedIn account today, will link hopefully tomorrow if it’s ready for prime time. facebook I still need to research some more, it seems to have some differences for businesses vs. individuals.
And still to go is finishing a WordPress book from the library and updating this blog as close as possible in appearance to the main site and with added functionality.
Don’t forget to sign up for the announcement list!

The Doors Are Open, Please Mind the Dust
Sunday night, with little fanfare, the dn Pictures web site was opened for public view, though it is still under construction.
Today, in addition to the well-progressing Aviation pages, additional photos were added to the Editorial pages for viewing pleasure.
We also decided to start marking the images with copyright, as discreetly as possible, on the images themselves in addition to the textual marking below the photos.

Welcome to the official blog of dn Pictures, the photographic business venture of David Nuss. The blog looks different from the portfolio site, but it’s template-based and as soon as we learn how to customize it, both will look more similar.
It’s a hands-on venture, with David digging in the guts of code and worrying over minutiae, so that visitors can have the best possible experience.
As of today, the site is a work in progress. Most of the Aviation photos are up, David has established the Pixlets announcement list (go to www.dnpictures.com/contact/ to sign up), and will be using this blog and the list and Twitter and such to let you know when more photos are up.
Still to come are the other photo sections as well as LinkedIn and facebook.
So stay tuned and stay in touch!
-David Nuss
